Advocacy Day

Issues

• Jim - Re-prioritization of adolescents
  • Asking for a review - Independent
    • Do we need to get legislation to mandate?
• Casey - Focus on specific issues
  • Youth who are not in foster care are not getting attention when reporting abuse
  • 1/2 nationwide average of substantiation of abuse and neglect
  • Personal stories go a long way
  • State Dept. youth can share issues and lack of focus—"screening out"
  • All adolescent are "FRS" issues

Other

• Review of Risk Matrix
• Timely app follow-up reviews (initial interview)
• All info is being put into the computer
• Interviews techniques are proper
• Are the attorneys properly notified
• Etc.
• Is FRS making referrals?
• Counties sharing info?
• Statistical analysis of change in reporting
• Consistency versus inconsistency between regions
