How to get Published
The Mockingbird Times is always looking for new writers, artists and photographers from around the country to contribute to the paper. We welcome submissions from young people who have experienced the foster care system and/or homelessness and pay between $20 and $25 per published piece.
Pay Scale
- $20 Poetry, prose, artwork or photos
- $25 Articles, essays or reviews
Guidelines
- No profanity, glorified violence or sexuality.
- No racist, homophobic, sexist or other discriminatory works accepted.
- No names of people or agencies without their consent.
- Pieces about personal experiences in foster care or with homelessness encourage.

Please send in only copies of your original work, as we are not responsible for anything that gets lost or stolen in the mail. Include your full name, the name you would like to use to be published and your full mailing address. Please allow up to four weeks after publication date for payment to be mailed to you.
